Das Projekt "Open Life Science Publication Database" (OLSPub (Arbeitstitel)) zielt darauf ab, eine widerstandsfähige und quelloffene Alternative zur weit verbreiteten US-Datenbank PubMed zu schaffen. Dieses Projekt wird als Reaktion auf die Besorgnis über mögliche inhaltliche Einschränkungen und Zugangsbeschränkungen zu PubMed aufgrund politischer Einflüsse und finanzieller Kürzungen in den USA initiiert und soll einen stabilen und umfassenden Zugang zu biowissenschaftlicher Literatur für die globale Forschungsgemeinschaft gewährleisten. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei die Entwicklung einer offenen deutsch/europäischen Datenbank, die nicht nur die Funktionalitäten und die in PubMed übernimmt, sondern auch eine Grundstruktur schafft.

Open Life Science Publication Database (OLSPub) - Strengthening the resilience of medical research by building an unrestricted alternative to PubMed

The Open Life Science Publication Database (OLSPub (working title)) project aims to create a robust and open-source alternative to the widely used US PubMed database. This project is being initiated in response to concerns about potential content restrictions and access limitations to PubMed due to political influences and funding cuts in the US and aims to ensure stable and comprehensive access to life science literature for the global research community. The focus is on the development of an open German/European database, which not only adopts the functionalities and the PubMed database, but also creates a basic structure.
